About
Connection First is born out of a desire to change the way we approach learning. I believe that our immediate environment can have a significant effect on our ability to thrive. Ignoring sensory triggers can be all consuming and prevent us from focusing in school or on tasks. This can be a key reason why children struggle to make progress in the classroom. At Connection First we think that taking some time to identify sensory triggers and really understand the profile of the individual can be key to identifying the best ways to make progress. We have significant experience and approach all situations with flexibility and an open mind.
I have worked in maintained, international and independent schools for over 20 years. As demand is increased on schools and teachers so too is school anxiety. Our world is now fast paced and the sheer amount of information that is available to us, all of the time, is overwhelming. For young people this can be a major factor in success at school. For the past decade, as a senior leader, I have worked with teachers to identify environmental triggers and to look at behaviour as communication rather than reaction. I truly believe that being ready to learn is key and we need to understand what that looks like for different people.
Myself and my team welcome the chance to discuss how we can help your child. For an initial, free, chat, please drop us a line here.
If you are a teacher and would like to join us on our mission and become a Connection First tutor, we would love to hear from you.
